Background
Greg Farnum came to the Athey Lab from the Boyle Lab at the University of Michigan, after a B.S. in Chemistry (2011) and an M.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (2014) from Michigan State University, where his thesis work addressed the mitochondrial replisome. He leads SMA-seq, the lab's measurement of per-read error against synthetic molecular barcodes, co-leads its CLC fragment analysis assay, and is the project manager for its other projects. He also works on long-read telomere sequencing, Cas9 enrichment, agentic infrastructure, and the CYP2D6 breast cancer cohort.
