Background
Monica Wolfe completed her Ph.D. in Bioinformatics at the University of Michigan in the Athey Lab, after an M.S. in Bioinformatics at the same institution. Her thesis work covers empirical error-rate determination in single-molecule sequencing using plasmid-based DNA standards, and targeted long-read sequencing with pharmacometabolic profiling in breast cancer patients treated with tamoxifen. During earlier graduate work in the Boyle Lab she developed LRphase and HaplotagLR, methods for assigning haplotype identity to long reads.
